The Village Fund was set up to raise money for charities by putting on events in the village for the village.
In 2018 we raised £1000 for Cyclists fighting Cancer and All Saints Church. We also helped to fund the defibrillator that has been installed in the phone box next to the entrance to the church. The other funding for the defibrillator came from a grant from our County Councillor – thanks to councillor Brain for his help.
Many thanks to all who have supported us during the last year – we could not have done this without you!
The events for 2019 are:
The Village Fete is held on the field opposite the village green, every year. This is a traditional village fete where the whole community pulls together to make a very enjoyable day. In 2019 we will be holding the fete on the 9th June and our charities for this year are Parkinsons and All Saints’ Church.
This year we will hold a Village BBQ on the Village Green on August 18th – a good excuse for a picnic and a get together.
The Flower Show will be held in the Village Hall on 4th August.
Carols on the Village Green are a favourite village way to start Christmas. We are joined on the Green by the Shipston Town Band at 7.45pm on Christmas Eve, for singing and mulled wine. If it is very wet – the carols may be in the Village Hall.
